These are the most powerful abilities available to players!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to learn a Dual\/Triple Technique, the characters involved must each have the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/character-traits\/\" target=\"_blank\">Power Link<\/a> trait, select a technique to contribute, and then invest TP with the other characters to combine\/amplify the selected techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Investing TP<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning a Dual\/Triple Technique requires investing TP into it. The Dual\/Triple techniques in <em>Chrono Trigger<\/em> were visual treats. It&#8217;s easy to imagine some mishaps while practicing them.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Combining Techniques into Dual\/Triple Techniques<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the steps below to combine individual techniques into a new Dual\/Triple Technique. It&#8217;s a complex process but the Game Master will handle the technical details so just focus on sounds exciting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do this, you will need to know all of the details for the individual Techniques being combined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Select the techniques to combine:<\/strong> Each participating character will contribute one technique.<\/li><li><strong>Select Element Amplifications<\/strong>: Select the amplifications that augment the Element of the Dual\/Triple Technique. Note that each amplification increases the required TP investment.<\/li><li><strong>Select Category and Effect Type Amplifications<\/strong>: Select the amplifications that augment the Category and Effect Type of the Dual\/Triple Technique. Note that each amplification increases the required TP investment.<\/li><li><strong>Select Target Amplifications<\/strong>: Select the amplifications that augment the Target of the Dual\/Triple Technique. Note that each amplification increases the required TP investment.<\/li><li><strong>Select Special Amplifications<\/strong>: Select special amplifications for the Dual\/Triple Technique. Note that each amplification increases the required TP investment.<\/li><li><strong>Submit Dual\/Triple Technique to Game Master<\/strong>: Send selections to the Game Master for combining and final approval.<\/li><li><strong>Add the Finalized Dual\/Triple Technique<\/strong> <strong>and Invest TP<\/strong>: Each character involved must invest the required TP from Step 2. The Game Master will mark invested TP and add the completed technique on each character&#8217;s spreadsheets.<\/li><li><strong>Use your new Dual\/Triple Technique<\/strong>: Try it out in the next battle!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Identify Individual Techniques to combine<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>First, the players must each select an individual technique to contribute to the Dual\/Triple technique. This should be a collaborative process with all participating players agreeing on the final selections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The players should think about how they want the techniques to combine&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>If Ayla has a Technique where she throws a boulder and Crono has a Technique that attacks a line, their combined Technique could just be Crono attacking a line while a boulder falls on it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that&#8217;s not very interesting&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much more interesting is Ayla throwing Crono instead of the boulder and his attack hitting a line that crosses the entire battlefield! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"448\" src=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/falconhit.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-247\"\/><figcaption>Screenshot from Chrono Continuum<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>If Marle has a healing technique that targets one person and Crono has a technique where he spins his sword around really fast hitting everything nearby, their combined technique could just be Crono spinning around really fast while getting healed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that&#8217;s not very interesting&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much more interesting is Crono spinning around really fast and sending Marle&#8217;s healing energy cascading over the battlefield!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Aurawhirl.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-250\" width=\"503\" height=\"438\"\/><figcaption>Screenshot from Chrono Wiki<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-very-light-gray-background-color has-background\" style=\"background-color:#d2d2d2\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>If Ayla has a technique that throws an enemy and Robo has a technique that punches many times, their combined technique could just be Ayla tossing an enemy to Robo who punches it a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that&#8217;s not very interesting&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much more interesting is the two of them tossing the enemy back and forth many times before finally slamming it into the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"448\" src=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/beasttoss.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-255\"\/><figcaption>Screenshot from Chrono Continuum<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If the Dual\/Triple Technique feels like just using the individual techniques simultaneously&#8230;it&#8217;s not very interesting. Do they have many weaker Dual Technique with a wide array of partners, a couple of strong Dual\/Triple Techniques with a few partners, or one extreme Triple Technique with their closest allies. This should, ideally, reflect their interactions with other players.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After the group has decided on the individual techniques to combine move to Step 2 to start selecting amplifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Select Element Amplifications.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Investment<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Amplification<\/th><th>Description<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">0 TP<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Same Element<\/td><td>The combined techniques must be of the same Element. The technique always acts as the Element most advantageous to the users.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Select Category Amplifications.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Individual techniques fall into one of five categories: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/character-techniques\/building-damage-techniques\/\" target=\"_blank\">damage<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/character-techniques\/building-weapon-techniques\/\" target=\"_blank\">weapon<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/character-techniques\/building-restore-techniques\/\" target=\"_blank\">restore<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/character-techniques\/utility-techniques\/\" target=\"_blank\">utility<\/a>, and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/character-techniques\/building-summon-techniques\/\" target=\"_blank\">summon<\/a>. Category amplifications enhance, combine, or alter those categories for Dual\/Triple Techniques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At least one category must be selected from the individual Techniques for each Dual\/Triple Technique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The category selection here will determine the primary effect of the Dual\/Triple Technique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Investment<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Amplification<\/th><th>Description<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">0 TP<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Same Category<\/td><td>The combined techniques must be of the same category. Crono is thrown by Ayla dramatically increasing his Range\/Damage but he is still hitting things with his sword.<\/li><li><strong>Aura Whirl<\/strong> is still a Restore technique. Crono is spinning around with his sword but it&#8217;s spreading healing rather than dealing damage.<\/li><li><strong>Beast Toss<\/strong> is still a Damage technique. Ayla and Robo toss an enemy back and forth, using force to pummel the enemy rather than their weapons.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the categories selected the Dual\/Triple technique will also inherit Effect Type (if any). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Investment<\/th><th class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Amplification<\/th><th>Description<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">0 TP<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Same Effect Type<\/td><td>The initial effect type is retained. In the areas where they really stand out they are multiplicative! These <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This step is special as you can select as many Special Amplifications as you want.
