{"id":56,"date":"2020-07-30T21:10:32","date_gmt":"2020-07-30T11:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/?page_id=56"},"modified":"2020-08-03T19:28:17","modified_gmt":"2020-08-03T09:28:17","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/kaihaku.net\/Chrono\/","title":{"rendered":"Only time will see how it all ends."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This tactical roleplaying system is an attempt to evoke some magic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The magic of what many consider to be one of the greatest games of all time, <em>Chrono Trigger<\/em>.  <\/li><li>The magic of writing a story collaboratively with friends online, <em>forum roleplaying<\/em>.<\/li><li>Even the magic of a fantastic game that failed as a sequel, <em>Chrono Cross<\/em>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not a 1 to 1 conversion of video game mechanics but a careful adaption to capture the spirit of the games. <em>Chrono Trigger<\/em>, in particular, adapts well to a tactical roleplaying system. The dynamic animations, the interaction with the map, the clever use of positioning, the combination techinques&#8230; It&#8217;s all there but automated. That included no random number generation by players and less probability\/more certainty. These elements easily can be adjusted for a more traditional tabletop experience.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Once I complete the first game using this system I&#8217;ll publicly share the Game Master materials including the spreadsheet and bestiary.
