My current Pathfinder campaign has entered Giant country and that’s spurred me to start painting my collection of Reaper Bones Giants. This time is Skorg Ironskull, Fire Giant King. As with Vanja Fire Giant Queen, I decided to go with more “human” colors to render this an all purpose Giant.

Celestial Winter – Session Six, Into the Tribelands
The group journeyed deeper into the western tribe lands searching for the missing Aegnus trading expedition. Mounted on horseback/dogback or riding in the carriage, the group manages to travel about 35 miles a day through the valleys framed by steep mountains. Bridgette does a lot of hunting throughout and supplements their meager rations with plenty…
Starmane, Unicorn
I ordered the Starmane miniature for a “Unicorn” NPC in my current Celestial Winter campaign. No complaints about the sculpt – it’s fantastic – but I was disappointed by my paintjob this time around. I like how the mane turned out but was let down by the body. I really wanted to capture a star-field/nebula…
Vanja Fire Giant Queen
I didn’t have much interest in Giants until I featured them as an extinct legendary race in the backstory for my Heretic’s Creed campaign. This inspired a growing fascination with the “big people” that’s lead to me including them in more and more prominent roles in campaigns. Vanja the Fire Giant Queen is one of…
Pathfinder with Pop: Master of the Forgotten Fortress
My Dad has been showing a lot of interest in Dungeons and Dragons lately so I decided to run a sitting of Pathfinder for him. I’ve never run an adventure module – always homebrew – but I have a few that I’ve picked up for inspiration. I looked through them and there was the Master of…
Marthrangul Great Dragon, Take Two
I had such a great time painting Marthrangul, Great Dragon as a White Dragon that I decided to order a second copy and paint it again as another type of dragon. I considered Red or Black but finally settled on Green. Green Dragons are not one of my favorite types but they are the classic. I decided…
Celestial Winter – Session Five, Home Again
Finding themselves abruptly returned home, the group quickly split into Lonepine and Haven contingents. Spazzlethrop and Edward hurried back to report what had transpired to the Elders…while Bridgette, Caldus, and Kendra returned to Lonepine to check on their families. The Elders of Haven praised Edward and Spazzlethrop for successfully beseeching Ernhardur to warm the valley….
Celestial Winter – Session Four, A Tainted Land
We went “theater of the mind” for the fourth session with miniatures only bouncing around off the grid sporadically. Leaving a half ruined hamlet behind them, the group set off for the mining town to the south in hopes of finding out more about where they were and why “Old” thought visiting here would prepare…
Chosen of Sokar, Nefsokar Sergeant
You may have noticed a new painted miniature in the last Celestial Winter Session Three summary. I hadn’t quite finished this mischievous villain in time for the session so I fielded him incomplete…and then it took forever to actually finish him up. But here he is. I painted the flesh amethyst to make the miniature stand out…
Marthrangul, Great Dragon
I purchased the Marthrangul Great Dragon miniature to enter in Michael Mordor’s May painting contest. Unfortunately May ended up being a terrible month on the work front – surprise resignation left me working some evenings & weekends – and I didn’t finish it in time for the contest… Oh well! I like entering these contests…
